If you roll up to The Tempus (NE67 5DZ) at 6 PM. Packed. Music blasting. Pizza oven smoking every table could be full, and the bar line could be 15 minutes deep.
Arrive a 4pm and the whole game could change.
Here’s the raw maths :
• Entry fee: £0 (yes, zero – no ticket, no cover).
• Live band: £0 (free from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM).
• Wood-fired pizza: £14–£16 (sharing size feeds two).
• Cocktail: £12 (Espresso Martini beats any city bar).
Total for two people with a pizza + 2 drinks? ~£40.
Compare that to a Newcastle city-centre dinner with no live music – you’re easily £80+.
Unwritten rule: food stops at 7:30 PM.
Show up at 6:30? You’re rushing. Show up at 4 PM? You grab the best fire-pit table, order slowly, watch the sunset over the lake, and the band walks on right as your second drink arrives.
And dogs? Welcome. Kids? New play park right beside the tipi (opened May 2026). Groups of 6+ can book – everyone else rolls the dice.
The kicker? This isn’t year-round. Spring/Summer season ends Sept 26th 2026 – then it flips to a Winter Alpine theme in November. Miss the window, and you’re waiting 8 weeks.
I nearly wrote this place off as “just another pop-up”.
