Its reputation is bolstered by being rated 4.8/5 on Trip.com , and consistently scoring 4.0 to 4.4 for its food, service, and atmosphere . While some reviews highlight occasional inconsistency , the positive feedback on its “great vibe” and “exceptional” chicken hanging kebab makes it a top recommendation, ranking as one of Newcastle’s best bars .
How Can You Maximise Your Experience with Cost of Living Beating Tips?
You can maximise your experience with cost of living beating tips by taking advantage of their fantastic weekday lunch and happy hour deals.
The £8.50 Lunch Menu: For just £8.50, enjoy a lighter version of their famous hanging kebab on fluffy pitta, available Monday to Friday from 11 am to 4 pm . This is a significant saving against the standard £17.95 hanging kebab price , offering a saving of over 50%.
Happy Hour Cocktails: Between 4 pm and 7 pm, Monday to Friday, grab any classic cocktail for £8.95, with pints available for “just under a fiver” and house wine/fizz for £19.95 . This contrasts with reviews noting cocktails can be an “expensive waste” at full price .
Consider the Bottomless Brunch: For a special occasion, their £37.50 bottomless brunch includes three drinks and a dish . For an extra £10, you can make it truly bottomless , offering good value if you plan to enjoy several premium drinks.
What Should You Expect When You Visit?
You should expect a stunning, botanical-themed setting with a lively but sometimes “overcrowded” atmosphere, serving Instagram-worthy hanging kebabs that receive mixed reviews on consistency. The venue is famed for its unique décor, including a central bar featuring a tree and greenhouse herbs , and a beautiful roof terrace offering fantastic city views . You can expect live music at certain times . However, be prepared for potential crowds, particularly during peak times, which some patrons have described as “overcrowded chaos” . While the chicken hanging kebab is often praised as “exceptional” , experiences can vary, with some finding the Sunday roast beef “overcooked” and noting that the food quality can be inconsistent .
Who Will Enjoy It Most?
The Botanist Newcastle will be enjoyed most by groups of friends looking for a vibrant setting for cocktails and photos, couples seeking a unique date-night spot, and those wanting a fun, lively brunch experience. Its central location and aesthetic appeal make it a “perfect spot for a fun night out” . It’s popular for “mate dates and post-work drinks” and “groups of glamorous ladies” , especially for their bottomless brunch on Fridays and Saturdays . The venue can accommodate up to 150 diners and hosts a range of clientele, although some have noted it attracts a younger, “glam” crowd. Families are welcome, with children enjoying their meals , though under-18s must vacate by 9 pm .
When Is the Best Time to Go?
The best time to go is during weekday afternoons (Monday-Friday, 11 am-4 pm) to take advantage of the £8.50 lunch deal and avoid the worst of the crowds. This is the “top tip” for a more relaxed experience . For cocktails, the happy hour (Monday-Friday, 4 pm-7 pm) is ideal for value . If you prefer a vibrant, bustling atmosphere, evening and weekend visits are lively but can be very busy; the rooftop terrace gets “super busy when the sun is shining” . It’s open Monday-Thursday 11 am-12 am, Friday-Saturday 10 am-1 am, and Sunday 10 am-11 pm .
Where Exactly Is It?
The Botanist Newcastle is exactly located at 13 Monument Mall, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 7AL, right in the city centre. It’s easily found near the iconic Grey’s Monument, which you can see from its roof terrace . Its central position makes it an easy stop for shoppers, post-work drinkers, and those on a night out .

What are the key factors currently influencing housing markets in the UK?
What You Need To Be Aware Of In UK Housing Market 2024 and Foreseeable Future: Institutional Buying and Its Impact on You
The UK housing market has been a topic of constant discussion for years, and 2024 is no different. While the pandemic initially caused a temporary halt, the market rebounded with a vengeance. However, recent trends suggest a potential cooling period, with some predicting price drops. However, could UK house prices be propped up by institutional buyers?
However could UK housing market prices be sustained by institutional buyers?
CheeringupInfo Lifestyle Improvement Club
One significant factor influencing the market’s future is the growing presence of large institutions like Lloyds Bank and major investment funds. These entities are actively buying thousands of single-family homes, prompting questions about the long-term implications for consumers and families.

This article explores the reasons behind institutional buying, its potential impact on the UK housing market, both positive and negative, and what you, as a consumer, need to be aware of to navigate this evolving landscape.
Blackstone the latest to seek to cash in on rental sector as demand for homes soars cheeringup.info #HousingMarketUK #HomesUK #HousingCrisis
Why Are Institutions Buying Houses?
Several factors motivate large institutions to enter the single-family home market:
Stable Returns: Property historically offers consistent returns, acting as a hedge against inflation. Property investment becomes an attractive option for institutions seeking long-term, stable income streams.
Diversification: Institutions hold a diversified portfolio of assets to minimise risk. Including residential property provides diversification and reduces dependence on traditional investment vehicles like stocks and bonds, or even commercial property investments that are currently tanking.
Scarcity and Demand: The UK housing market faces a chronic shortage of available properties, particularly affordable ones. This scarcity fuels demand, making residential property a potentially lucrative investment.
9 Reasons Why Institutional Buying Matters (For Good and Bad)
The rise of institutional buying in the UK housing market carries significant weight for consumers and families. Here are nine key reasons why:
Potential Benefits:
Increased Supply: Institutions may unlock additional housing stock by renovating older properties or acquiring underutilised land for development, potentially increasing overall supply in the long run.
Professional Management: Large institutions often have professional property management teams, potentially leading to better maintenance and more responsive landlords for tenants.
Stabilised Prices: Increased institutional ownership could dampen price volatility, leading to a more stable market in the long term.
Potential Drawbacks:
Reduced Affordability: Large-scale buying by cash-rich institutions could further drive up prices, particularly for first-time buyers, potentially pushing them out of the market.
Reduced Choice: With institutions snapping up available properties, individual buyers may face a smaller pool of homes to choose from, limiting their options.
Community Impact: A high concentration of institutionally-owned properties might affect the character and dynamic of neighbourhood, potentially leading to a homogenisation of communities.
Uncertainty for Tenants: The long-term impact on tenant rights and protections remains unclear. Institutional ownership might lead to changes in tenancy agreements or increased focus on short-term rentals.
Financial System Risk: If the housing market suffers a significant downturn, institutions holding large numbers of properties could face financial difficulties, potentially impacting the broader financial system.
Reduced Social Mobility: Difficulty accessing affordable homeownership could hinder social mobility, making it harder for young families to build wealth and move up the economic ladder.
Actions You Can Take to Protect Yourself
The rise of institutional buying creates a complex landscape for UK consumers. Here are some actions you can take to protect yourself:
Be Prepared to Move Quickly: If you’re a buyer, be ready to act fast and make competitive offers, as institutions might be prepared to offer above asking price.
Consider Alternatives: Explore alternative housing options like shared ownership schemes or government-backed initiatives to increase affordability.
Do Your Research: Thoroughly research any property you’re considering, particularly regarding ownership and potential future plans.
Seek Professional Advice: Consulting a mortgage broker or financial adviser can help navigate the evolving market and develop a sound buying strategy.
The housing market, while crucial, is just one aspect of a fulfilling life. Cheeringup.info, a Lifestyle Improvement Club, offers resources and support for individuals and families to thrive in various areas. Conclusion
The rise of institutional buying in the UK housing market presents both opportunities and challenges for consumers. While it has the potential to increase supply, stabilise prices, and improve professional management, it also carries risks like reduced affordability, limited choice, and potential community impacts. By staying informed, taking proactive steps, and seeking professional advice, UK consumers can navigate this evolving landscape and make informed decisions about their housing needs. Problems with social care are not based on UK immigration policy CheeringupInfo
UK Politics
When people say we mistake salary for the value of peoples jobs the are wrong. Salary should reflect the value of the job you do. Trouble is UK society does not take responsibility for rewarding our workers with a fair salary.
We do not value social care workers. They are not paid a true living wage.
Social care employers do not pay a fair living wage
Councils do not reward social care providers with a fair contract payment to deliver reliable safe quality social care services
UK governments for decades have not provided enough money to fund quality social care
The UK public are not prepared to pay tax or other means of funding quality social care in the UK.
We the people in the UK are happy to perpetuate poor social care services. By allowing our politicians on all sides and all colours to use social care as a political football we allow them to pass the buck. We need to grab hold of social care.
The people that winge about restricting low skilled workers to UK on basis that our social care services will collapse are missing the point. We need to pay our social care workers more to ensure people are prepared to work in social care services.
What that means is that we the UK public need to pay more to properly fund social care. Secondly the UK government needs to change how we manage social care. This if done properly can actually improve NHS services and even save money. Either councils or central UK government need to give more money to social care providers or bring that into public ownership. Social care providers or local or central government must pay people working in social care more to improve the quality and consistency of social care in the UK.
We need to stop blaming everyone else for poor social care in the UK. It starts with people in the UK paying more to fund social care in the UK. Then we can say that social care workers get paid what they are worth.

The best frames per second (fps) for online videos can vary depending on your specific needs and the platform you’re using. However, a common standard for online videos is 30 fps, as it provides a smooth and natural-looking motion. Ultimately, the choice of fps depends on factors like the content’s nature, your target audience, and the platform’s supported frame rates. It’s a good idea to check the platform’s recommendations or requirements for optimal video quality.

Create a daily plan to meditate more easily with our step by step guide
Here is a step-by-step guide to create a daily meditation plan:
Determine the time and place: Choose a time and place where you won’t be disturbed, such as first thing in the morning or just before bedtime. Also, find a quiet, comfortable spot where you can sit or lie down and relax.
Set a goal: Determine how long you want to meditate each day, whether it’s 5 minutes, 10 minutes or 20 minutes. Start with a manageable goal and gradually increase the time as you get more comfortable with the practice.
Get comfortable: Find a comfortable seated position, either on a chair or cushion on the floor. You can also lie down, but be sure to stay awake. Keep your back straight and relax your muscles.
Focus on your breath: Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Then, begin to focus on your breath and the sensation of the air moving in and out of your body. If your mind starts to wander, simply bring your attention back to your breath.
Use a mantra or visualisation: Repeat a mantra or visualisation to help you focus and calm your mind. For example, you can visualize a peaceful scene or repeat the words “peace” or “calm”.
End your meditation: When your timer goes off, take a few deep breaths and slowly open your eyes. Take a moment to stretch and shake out any tension.
Make it a daily habit: Make meditation a part of your daily routine by setting aside the same time and place each day. You can also use a reminder or an app to help you stay on track.
Remember that meditation is a practice and it takes time to develop. Be patient and kind to yourself, and eventually you will find it easier to quiet your mind and find peace through meditation.
